He helps every day, and just before the holidays he invites you to join him in helping. TVN Foundation and the “Uwaga!” program TVN are organizing a charity event. In the following weeks, there will be a chance to get to know the patients and their needs.

RafaÅ‚ is a little strongman. – There was no indication that he would struggle with such a monster – says Anna Szwajgiel, RafaÅ‚'s mother. This monster is a disease. Spinal muscular atrophy. The boy's first symptoms appeared when he was one and a half years old. Today he is seven years old and still fighting.

RafaÅ‚ receives a drug that stops the disease, but it has already devastated his body. He dreams of walking on his own one day, but equipment and rehabilitation cost a lot. – It's not easy to ask for help, but we don't do it for ourselves – emphasizes Anna Szwajgiel.

The boy is a ward of the TVN Foundation, which, together with the program “Uwaga!” begins a joint Christmas campaign. Every week for the next five weeks, reporters from “Attention!” they will show the story of little warriors. The grand finale is scheduled for December 17.

– We will organize a small celebration for the Foundation's beneficiaries and invite them to a live program. I hope they will have a great time – says Daria Górka, journalist of “Uwagi!” TVN.

The costs of treatment and rehabilitation are too high for many

A family from Krakow has been facing adversity for years. Paula was born sick. – My dream is to be able to walk – said Paula Bogacz in 2011. That dream still hasn't come true, but she's still bursting with energy. – I am smiling, as they say, from ear to ear – says Paula Bogacz.

When the girl was six years old, her father, who now uses a wheelchair, fell ill. The costs of treatment and rehabilitation of two people in the family were unaffordable. – Fortunately, then the Foundation and people who simply help stood in our way – says Agnieszka Bogacz, Paulina's mother.

Thanks to your support, our viewers, families like this are not alone and it is easier for them. – Healthy people who are doing well sometimes look for problems out of nowhere, but in our case, when there is a problem, you have to fight it and then you have to be happy – says Tomasz Bogacz, Paula's father.

The TVN Foundation not only supports the treatment and rehabilitation of specific people, but also helps hospitals. She donated over PLN 8 million for the reconstruction of the building in Nysa after the flood.

– We will buy a stationary computed tomography scanner, we will buy an X-ray, we will buy a new ambulance – says Artur KamiÅ„ski, director of the District Hospital in Nysa.

At the beginning of next year, the TVN Foundation will open the Psychiatry and Oncology Center for Children and Adolescents. – A very modern, beautiful building that will be a warm, caring place for our young patients – assures Zuzanna Lewandowska, president of the TVN Foundation.
