If a politician calls himself a “Polish Kennedy”, he shows a sense of humor, but also determination, which can be an advantage in the case of a presidential candidate. Tobiasz BocheÅ„ski argues that he is still in the game and maybe he is, but in PiS the fight for the nomination takes place in the privacy of offices.
Mariusz BÅ‚aszczak appeals for patience in selecting the Law and Justice candidate in the presidential elections. The research is ongoing and a decision will be made soon. – I assume that the Law and Justice candidate will be presented to the public in November – informs BÅ‚aszczak.
Some in PiS say that perhaps even faster than the Civic Coalition, but considering that various announcements have already been made many times, no date can be certain even now. “This is not a race,” we hear in the party.
– This media discussion is obviously ongoing, but there is still a lot of time for the election campaign – argues BartÅ‚omiej Wróblewski, an MP from Law and Justice.
However, several candidates have already started the pre-campaign, and PiS is clearly lagging behind, creating the impression that it is unable to choose a candidate.
Three candidates in the game
PiS has been ordering further research for a long time, the latest one – on Friday – being analyzed by the party's top authorities. President JarosÅ‚aw KaczyÅ„ski lifted the veil of secrecy here. – Now we have three candidates in this phase, examined very thoroughly, and I can say that they are actually at a tie level – he revealed on wPolsce24 television.
Officially, the party does not reveal who it is. – Only President KaczyÅ„ski knows who is among the three – says Zbigniew Kuźmiuk, an MP from Law and Justice.
According to information from “Fakty” TVN, in the last round of polls the party checked the support of PrzemysÅ‚aw Czarnek, Karol Nawrocki and Tobiasz BocheÅ„ski. The latter confirms and advertises itself quite immodestly. – I am called the Polish Kennedy and this is very significant – says Tobiasz BocheÅ„ski, MEP from Law and Justice.

In PiS they say that Bocheński would show the better face of PiS, but he does not have much experience in governing. Nawrocki doesn't have it either, but he can wrest some support from the Confederation and the nationalists. Czarnek is a good candidate for the hard PiS electorate, but he has a very strong negative electorate.
– This must be a candidate acceptable to Confederation voters and PSL voters – says Zbigniew Kuźmiuk. – At the moment, everyone is on the same page, but the near future will show whether there will be any decisive element – comments Piotr Kaleta, an MP from Law and Justice.
KaczyÅ„ski's “dilemmas”.
According to information from “Fakty” TVN, a survey commissioned by PiS shows that the three candidates actually have similar results, but none of them has enough support to talk about a real possibility of victory today. Hence the question whether the fourth candidate will return.
– Today, the Prime Minister has not made a decision to run, says Law and Justice MEP MichaÅ‚ Dworczyk when asked about Mateusz Morawiecki's possible run.
– I think that today JarosÅ‚aw KaczyÅ„ski is looking for a candidate who will fight the candidate of the Civic Coalition on equal terms, but I think that in the background there is also a dilemma whether such a candidate of Law and Justice will promote himself too much and will have problems with him a problem within Law and Justice – says PaweÅ‚ Poncyljusz, a former Law and Justice politician.
On Wednesday, there will be another meeting of the highest PiS authorities and the first opportunity to announce a candidate.
