IMWM issued meteorological warnings. In 14 voivodeships, the coming hours will bring strong gusts of wind, and it will also rain heavily in some places. Check where to be especially careful.

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.

IMWM warnings – strong wind

The lowest level alerts apply in the following voivodeships:

  • West Pomeranian Voivodeshipin Wałecki poviat (where warnings will be in force until 4 a.m. on Wednesday) and Sławno, Koszalin poviats, KoszalinKołobrzeg, Gryfice (where warnings will be in force from 10 p.m. on Tuesday to 1 p.m. on Wednesday);
  • Lubuskie. It will be dangerous until 4 on Wednesday;
  • Lower Silesiawhere the alerts will expire on Wednesday at 4;
  • Opole province. The warnings will be in force until 6 on Wednesday;
  • Greater Polandwhere the alarms will expire at 4-6 on Wednesday;
  • Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. It will be dangerous until Wednesday 6;
  • Pomeranianin the following counties: Nowy Dwór, Malbork, Sztum, Kwidzyn, Tczew, Starogard (where warnings will be in force until 6 a.m. on Wednesday), Gdańsk, Gdańsk, GdyniaKartuzy, Puck, Wejherowo, Lębork, Słupsk, Słupsk (where warnings will be in force from 10 p.m. on Tuesday to 1 p.m. on Wednesday)
  • Warmian-Masurian Voivodeshipexcept for the extreme eastern counties. The alarms will expire at 6-8 on Wednesday;
  • Masovian Voivodeshipexcept for the south-eastern counties, where it will be dangerous until Wednesday 8;
  • Łódź. The warnings will be in force until 8 on Wednesday;
  • Silesian. The alerts will expire there on Wednesday at 8;
  • Lesser Polandin the following poviats: Gorlice (where warnings will be in force until 12 p.m. on Wednesday), Nowy Sącz, Nowy SączLimanowski, Nowy Targ, Myślenice, Wadowicki, Tatra (where the warning will be in force until 8 a.m. on Wednesday);
  • Podkarpackiein the following counties: Jasło, Krosno, KrosnoSanok, Lesko, Bieszczady. The alerts will expire on Wednesday at 12;
  • Świętokrzyskiein the following poviats: Kielce, Kielcewhere warnings will be in force from 5 p.m. on Tuesday to 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

Strong winds with an average speed of up to 35 km/h, locally up to 45 km/h, with gusts up to 85 km/h, from the south-west and west are forecast.

IMWM warnings – heavy rainfall

Downpours may occur in the voivodeship Lower Silesiain the counties of Kłodzko, Karkonosze and Jelenia Góra.

Rainfall is forecast to be moderate, sometimes heavy, ranging from 35 l/sq m. up to 45 l/sq m The warning will be in force until 5 or 9 on Wednesday.

What are IMWM first degree warnings?

When IMWM announces a first degree warning, conditions are expected to favor the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by traffic disruptions, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation.
