Karol Nawrocki has his own achievements, but he is not related to the party fight – this is what Janusz Cieszyński, an MP from this party, said about the PiS candidate for president in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24. Andrzej Halicki, MEP of the Civic Coalition, referring to the candidate's speech, concluded with the words – “I read what I had to say. The text was written by President Kaczyński. Thank you for choosing me.”

Karol Nawrockipresident of the Institute of National Remembrance, became the candidate of Law and Justice in the presidential elections to be held in 2025. PiS presents Nawrocki as a “civic” and “non-party” candidate. He is not a member of Law and Justice or any other party. To the President Institute of National Remembrance the law prohibits this.

PiS's decision regarding the candidate was commented on “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 by Andrzej Halicki, MEP of the Civic Coalition, and PiS MP Janusz Cieszyński.

– On the one hand, Karol Nawrocki is a candidate with a very strong background in our history as the president of the Institute of National Remembrance, he knows where we came from, but he is also a candidate of the future – said Cieszyński.

– His colleagues wrote something that I personally really like: he created the “Institute of the National Future” from the Institute of National Remembrance. Because he knew how to deal with our history, difficult and at times very difficult, but one of which we are very proud, and how to enter the future with it – he added.

– I think these are things that show that he is an unconventional, educated man, (he has – ed.) experience in managing a large institution. I think (he is – ed.) just a very, very good candidate and I think we will get to know him even better in the coming months, he added. Cieszyński also assessed that Nawrocki “is a man who has his own achievements, but who is not associated with the party quarrel.”

Halicki: Nawrocki's speech included quotes directly from Kaczyński

Andrzej Halicki, in turn, said that he “does not underestimate” Nawrocki's candidacy and that it should be approached “with respect.”

He also referred directly to Nawrocki's speech. – I don't like this structure in which the candidate basically thanks the president first. I would describe this entire speech as a punchline: “I have read what I had to say. The text was written by President Kaczyński. Thank you for choosing me.” This is his citizenship, he continued.

Halicki stated that the candidate's speech included “quotes directly from Jarosław Kaczyński's speeches.” – I don't think we, and I mean the viewers, will be fooled for the umpteenth time into something that is the exact opposite of citizenship, he said.

The MEP also referred to Nawrocki's announcement that he would like to end the “Polish-Polish war”. – Tone Jarosław Kaczyńskithe division of Poles into worse and better sorts, was visible in this speech – he said.
