US Ambassador to Poland Mark Brzezinski announced that he will hold this position until January 20, 2025. He announced that he had submitted a letter of resignation to President Joe Biden and thanked him for the trust he placed in him. “Serving as an ambassador was one of my dreams. I never imagined that I would serve as the U.S. ambassador to Poland. It exceeds anything I could have imagined,” he wrote.
“January 20, 2025 will be my last day as the US ambassador to Poland. I submitted a letter of resignation to President Biden, to whom I am eternally grateful for the trust he placed in me when he decided on my mission,” Brzezinski wrote on social media.
“Serving as an ambassador was one of my dreams. I never imagined that I would serve as a US ambassador to Poland. It exceeds anything I could have imagined. I spent three very intense years in one of the best US embassies,” he added.
“I want to dedicate my period as ambassador to Poland to the memory of my mother, Emilie Benes Brzezinski, who died in Florida on July 22, 2022, while I was on a mission here. Her poise, perseverance, brilliance, creativity, innovative spirit and positive attitude influenced every moment that I spent here in Poland,” he added.
Thanks to Joe Biden
Brzezinski also thanked the president USA Joe Biden. “His belief in me drove me to do everything in my power to live up to his presidency,” he wrote. He recalled that during the time he managed the American mission in Poland, the host of the White House visited our country twice, and he himself accompanied the president. Andrzej Duda and the Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a visit to the White House in March 2024, which was the 25th anniversary of Poland's accession to NATO.
“I am extremely honored to serve this truly great American president,” he wrote.
Finally, the ambassador added that he would serve in this capacity for the next 56 days. “And as always, we will strive to advance American interests at all times,” he added.
