Mark Brzezinski announced his resignation in a statement published on social media.
“January 20, 2025 will be mine last day as US ambassador Poland. “I submitted my resignation to President Biden, to whom I am eternally grateful for trusting me and entrusting me with this mission,” he said, noting that this role was one of his “lifelong dreams.”
He noted that he “never imagined that he would serve as the US ambassador to Poland.” “It's beyond anything I could have imagined. Now I've had three full years under my belt in one of the best facilities of the US Embassy“- he added.

Brzezinski dedicated his time in office to his late mother Emilie Benes Brzezinski.
“Her composure, perseverance, brilliance, creativity, innovative spirit and positive attitude accompanied me every minute of every day spent in Poland,” we read in the entry.
Ambassador expressed gratitude to Joe Bidenwhom he called a man “both great and good.” “His belief in me motivated me to do everything in my power to fulfill his presidency. I am extremely honored to have I can serve this presidenta truly great American president,” he wrote.
Brzezinski assured that until the end of his mission he would “pursue the American interest“. “Every minute, every day,” he noted.
