Kłodzko, Nysa. The flood victims' problems do not end there. There are no hands to help rebuild houses

At the beginning of the week, the president's office announced the signing of an amendment to the Act on special solutions related to removing the effects of floods. Minister Marcin Kierwińskithe government's plenipotentiary for post-flood reconstruction, announced the introduction of an advance payment system. – Advance payment means that everyone who submits an application will receive PLN 50,000 in advance within 3 days – he said.

The advance payment system is intended to quickly help flood victims and speed up the reconstruction of their ruined homes.

– At the moment, the most important priority task is the payment of benefits up to PLN 200,000. As for the city of Kłodzko, we have achieved 66 percent of payments, which means that over PLN 21 million has already been sent to 220 families. There are still 111 decisions ahead of us, which we intend to issue by the end of this week and deal with the issue of payment of benefits up to PLN 200,000 – said Michał Piszko, the Mayor of Kłodzko, on TVN24.

– In Nysa, payments for building houses are also the most important. This latest change in the amendment to the law will help a lot when the advance payment amount reaches residents in the next few days. Approximately 500 families have already received this support in the amount resulting from the estimated losses, but in the coming days, by the end of the month, this process will be completed and all residents who need financial support to rebuild their houses destroyed during the flood will receive this advance. in the amount of PLN 50,000, which will help a lot – says Kordian Kolbiarz, mayor of Nysa, on TVN24.

Documentation, renovation and cleaning works are underway in flood-affected cities. Municipalities help allocate construction materials to flood victims, but residents of flooded areas struggle with another problem – the lack of construction companies.

– I confirm that we do have a problem with people and companies that perform various types of renovation and construction works. There is a very serious deficit when it comes to the Kłodzko commune itself, which is currently in the process of renovating 46 municipal premises, which we want to allocate to flood victims who are currently located in a hotel facility. Unfortunately, we only have two entities, two companies, that have volunteered to carry out this work. Unfortunately, this will prolong the process and by the end of the year we will be able to put 30 apartments into service instead of the 46, says the mayor of Kłodzko on air.

– We also have problems with renovation crews. We know that residents rely on their own resources, i.e. friends, family and friends. We had several teams from outside Nysa that helped, but that time is over. Now we rely mainly on the strength of the local economy. All construction teams are working at the highest speed, the waiting time for specialists is really long, it is not weeks but months to make an appointment for the renovation of your own house – says the mayor of Nysa.
