Three Chinese diplomats will have to leave the representative office in Vilnius within a week for actions violating Lithuanian law and the Vienna Convention. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that the decision was made on the basis of information provided by the responsible authorities.

For actions violating the Vienna Convention and Lithuanian legislation Lithuania recognized three diplomats of the Chinese mission in Vilnius as undesirable persons and sent a diplomatic note to Beijing on this matter, the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Friday.

“The decision was made on the basis of information provided by the responsible authorities,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs justified, without providing details of the case. The only remark highlighted was that “Lithuania has always been and remains open to constructive dialogue to resolve bilateral issues by mutual consent.”
