The Mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, obliged members of supervisory boards of city companies with Collegium Humanum diplomas to take a state examination entitling them to perform such functions. These people include, among others: vice-president of Gdańsk – Piotr Grzelak.
Graduates of MBA studies at Collegium Humanum, who have been sitting on supervisory boards of municipal companies in Gdańsk since 2022, are preparing for the exam. This is the decision of the city mayor Aleksandra Dulkiewiczwhich decided that a Collegium Humanum diploma is not sufficient to maintain a position on supervisory boards. The state examination for candidates for members of supervisory bodies is scheduled to take place on December 14.
Radio Zet was the first to report the matter. According to the radio station, Dulkiewicz told council members who have a Collegium Humanum diploma that they have until the end of the first quarter of 2025 to confirm their qualifications with a state exam.
These people are to include, among others: Deputy Mayor of Gdańsk Piotr Grzelak, who is an MBA graduate from Collegium Humanun.
Grzelak sits on the supervisory boards of the Gdańsk Airport and the Gdańsk International Fair (MTG). Previously, he was on the supervisory board of Arena Gdańsk Operator.
The City Hall in Gdańsk does not provide information on how many people with MBA degrees obtained at Collegium Humanum sit on supervisory boards of municipal companies.
“After receiving information about doubts regarding the quality of education and the principles of operation of this university, the president ordered a review of people with Collegium Humanum diplomas on the supervisory boards of city companies,” emphasized Daniel Stenzel, spokesman for the mayor of Gdańsk, in a statement.
“They are to confirm their knowledge by the end of the first quarter of 2025”
He added that all these people were informed that they had to confirm their knowledge by the end of the first quarter of 2025 with a state examination at the Ministry of State Assets. “We do not know who will take this exam and when, it is an individual decision of each interested person,” Stenzel noted.
Councilor PIS in the Gdańsk City Council, Przemysław Majewski stated in an interview that the disclosure of information about high Gdańsk officials who sit on the supervisory board of city companies with a Collegium Humanum diploma is not a surprise to him. “When they were appointed to these positions, I pointed out that this was President Dulkiewicz's way of rewarding people associated with her political environment, i.e. +Everything for Gdańsk+. Therefore, it was not the knowledge of supervision over commercial companies that was decisive, but the personal knowledge of the mayor of Gdańsk. The fact of using this diploma from Collegium Humanum only confirms my belief,” he said.
The examination for candidates for members of supervisory bodies is conducted by the Ministry of State Assets. It consists of a written and oral part. The written test contains 100 questions and takes 100 minutes to complete. During the oral part, the examinee answers questions from members of the examination committee. The condition for admission to the oral part of the exam is to correctly answer at least 75 questions in the test.
Collegium Humanum scandal
In the matter of irregularities regarding the Collegium Humanum university (currently Varsovia University of Business and Applied Sciences), officers CBA they have been operating since February. It was then that “Newsweek” journalists found out that the private university offered rapid courses that allowed you to obtain an MBA diploma. Such diplomas facilitated, among other things, path to supervisory boards of State Treasury companies. The credibility of documents issued by Collegium Humanum was to be ensured, among others, by: foreign universities, but it turned out that they were not authorized to offer MBA studies. Collegium Humanum graduates included: politicians, presidents and board members of State Treasury companies, secret service officers and military commanders.

Since February, the CBA has detained approximately 30 people in connection with the Collegium Humanum case. The charges have already been heard by, among others: former PiS MEP Karol Karski and mayor of Wrocław Jacek Sutryk.
