Zbigniew Ziobro – the Sejm agreed to detain and bring him to prison. Magdalena Sroka and Witold Zembaczyński comment

The Sejm agreed to detain and forcibly bring Zbigniew Ziobro before the investigative commission into the Pegasus case. The person concerned himself had earlier said from the parliamentary podium that he considered the commission's actions to be unlawful.

This matter was discussed in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 by members of the investigative committee for Pegasus – its chairwoman Magdalena Sroka from Trzecia Droga-PSL and Witold Zembaczyński from the Civic Coalition.

To the host's comment that the court would now decide to arrest Ziobro and bring him before the commission, Sroka replied that “tomorrow such a request will go to the District Court in Warsaw.”

– We will set a date (for the meeting – ed.) and if the court issues a positive opinion, Mr. Ziobro, as well as Mr. Pogonowski (former head of the Internal Security Agency – ed.), will be brought before the committee and will have to answer questions – she said .

When asked when Ziobro could be brought to the committee meeting, she replied: – I think it will be the beginning of February next year.

Sroka also said that the judgment of the Constitutional Tribunal referred to by Ziobro “does not exist.” – This is a ruling that was issued with the participation of an understudy judge, this ruling is not published (in the Journal of Laws – ed.). There is no judgment that would stop the commission's work, she emphasized.

Witold Zembaczyński said that Ziobro “is still mentally in the stage of governing.” – Today he is not only the opposition, but also a potentially accused person, which is why he is trying to look for new figures that can later be used in prosecutorial proceedings as evidence to secure his legal interest – said the KO MP.

– Zbigniew Ziobro says that he had sick leave, but he never presented this sick leave to the investigative committee. Today, we are no longer the recipient of any layoffs. Today, after Zbigniew Ziobro's immunity was removed, further decisions are in the hands of the court. That's why we prepared the ground for this by summoning him multiple times and waiving his immunity so that the court could decide whether Ziobro should testify, Zembaczyński continued.

Information about his connections with Karol Nawrocki, the PiS candidate for president, is one of the main elements of the loud anonymous “report” about Nawrocki's past, which has recently circulated in the media. It contains a warning that Olgierd L. may become one of the “main characters in the narrative about the candidate's entanglements”.

– This will remain with Karol Nawrocki throughout the entire campaign, unless the information that came to light was a deliberate action of someone from inside PiS to replace Karol Nawrocki's candidacy. I don't think it will happen – ed.) and that's why I think this case will stay with him until the end and he will explain his connections at every step – said Magdalena Sroka.

– I would ask the question: who prepared this report? Aren't these sometimes people from Morawiecki? Wasn't this a report serving PiS's internal agenda to eliminate Nawrocki? It is written in a journalistic style, so to speak. Someone behind it really did good research and proved, de facto, that under this veneer of patriotism there is really a brown color, there are gangsters and that Karol Nawrocki felt great in this environment – added Zembaczyński.
