The longest road tunnel in Poland: There will be a tunnel under the Oder five kilometers longand the entire Szczecin bypass – 50 km. The Ministry of Infrastructure announced the tender procedure on Tuesday, December 17. The sections Kołbaskowo – Dołuje and Dołuje – Police are to be completed completed in 2028and the Police – Goleniów route, on which it will be located tunnelshould be completed in 2032
Tunnel under the Oder: The two-pipe tunnel will be bored with a TBM machine, its diameter will be 15 m. It will have 19 cross-passages for safety, and its maximum depth is planned for 51 m below ground level.
Advantages of the Szczecin bypass: The Ministry of Infrastructure lists among: them: Closing the ring around Szczecin, reduction Police – Goleniów route from 58 km to 23 km, better connection of the agglomeration with the expressway network and relieving traffic in the center of Szczecin and on existing routes.
Szczecin was waiting for the bypass: – Our region has finally been noticed by… government. This road will open completely new chapter in the history of Szczecin. We've been waiting for it for 30 years. Today the investment process is finally starting – said Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Arkadiusz Marchewka. The head of the ministry, Dariusz Klimczak, also said that ordinary citizens were waiting for the decision to build the bypass, “but also the economy was waiting and entrepreneurs.
