Dorota Szelągowska for years it has been associated primarily with interior design. Forbes magazine placed it 43rd on the list of the 100 most valuable women's brands in Poland. The winner of Telekamera in the “Television Personality” category in 2011, her portfolio includes such programs as “Dorota Was Urzadzi”, “Total renovation of Szelągowska” and “Home Revolutions”. However, as the well-known saying goes – Krakow was not built in a day. The presenter started her career in the media years ago, when she was a teenager.

Dorota Szel±gowska she studied journalism and applied social sciences, but ultimately never managed to graduate in either field. – I regret it terribly (…). I didn't finish both of these fields. And this is my complex, yes, the presenter once said in an interview with Gala magazine. Szelągowska, however, went to work very quickly. When she was only 18, made her debut as a host of the youth program “Błażeja's Rower” on TVP1. – In my last year of high school, I was already working on television. I went to the casting, I got in and it stayed that way – Gali revealed.
The mentioned program was broadcast at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries and gained considerable popularity. The format was aimed at teenagers and did not avoid difficult topics. Dorota Szelągowska hosted a breakfast program on TVP. It cost her a lot
Even though the presenter has been running programs on air for years TVN-u, previously we could see her in programs and events that were broadcast on Polish Television. Few remember that Szelągowska led “Question for breakfast“, where she most often appeared alongside Tomasz Kin. In our gallery you will see what it looked like then. As she once confessed, being a breakfast hostess cost her a lot. – It was 2006. I was there for a while. Those were the worst moments of my panic attacks at the time, so I took all the anti-anxiety drugs I could, because I realized that it was a three-hour program after all. I was driving on the strongest doses – she revealed in the podcast “Provincial&Kędzierski”.
The star did not focus only on developing her career on television. We could read her columns many times in women's magazines such as “Pani” and “Olivia”. She also dealt with the TVN station. Years ago, she was involved in the production of the programs “Moja krew” and “Dancing with the Stars“. She also decided to work on music videos. She participated in the creation of Dorota Miśkiewicz and Tomasz Makowiecki's clips.

In 2008, the program debuted on Kuchnia TV “Dietosphere”, hosted by Dorota Szelągowska. She was described by the format's producers as “an extremely brilliant and energetic journalist with extensive experience in hosting television programs.” The program debunked myths related to diet, although Szelągowska only served as a hostess. Later, she decided to follow the path she had thought about years ago.
She didn't choose architecture in her youth because, as she said in an interview with Gala, it reminded her “only of bridges, mathematics and things like that.” – Back then, I didn't even think that I could do anything related to interior design. Even though, when I look back at it now, all the signs in heaven and on earth said that this was the direction for me – she assessed in hindsight. – Apart from changes made at home, repainting furniture and all the rest, when I open my notebooks from high school, on every margin and empty page there is a drawing, a plan of a house, an apartment or something like that – said the star. – Only before I was thirty, I took a course that gave me the right to practice my profession – she added.

Dorota Szelągowska started from the homes of celebrities. Then she became a TVN star.
The presenter does her thing she took her first steps related to interiors on Domo+ (currently Canal+Domo). In 2010, she appeared as the host of the program “Dach nad Gwiazdami”, in which she visited celebrities in their homes, showing how they actually live. She welcomed, among others, down Natalia Kukulska, Monica Richardson and Iwona Węgrowska. Later, she also led productions such as “Hotelove” and “Houses of the Stars”.
However, it cannot be denied that it was the programs on TVN that brought her the greatest popularity. In 2014, the “Dorota Was arranged” format appeared, which had six seasons. It was broadcast on TVN Style. It was there that Szelągowska carried out three-day metamorphoses of specific rooms with a budget of PLN 7,000. The producers noticed the presenter's potential and subsequent productions with Szelągowska in the main role were produced. The following appeared like mushrooms after the rain: “Kitchen Hunt”, “Dorothy's Weekend Metamorphoses”, and “Dorothy's Easter Metamorphoses”. The greatest success was certainly “Total renovations of Szelągowska” and “Apartment Hunting”, which we could already see on the main channel of TVN.
But that's not all. Szelągowska has had her hands full for years. Further programs with the presenter in the main role appeared on HGTV: “Home Revolutions”, “Dorota Inspires”, “It's Beautiful Here”, as well as “Metamorphoses of Dorota Szelągowska”. The star also runs her own design office. If that wasn't enough, the presenter has three books to her credit: “Makatka”, written with her mother, Katarzyna Grochola“Dorota will arrange you for Christmas” and “It was supposed to be fun, but it turned out as usual.” In 2024, she appeared on the jury of “MasterChef Teen”. In November this year The broadcast of “Total renovations of Szelągowska” has ended, but this is not the end of the designer on TVN. According to “Presserwis”, the new program hosted by Dorota Szelągowska will appear on air in autumn 2025.
