The National Prosecutor's Office submitted to the District Court an application to issue a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) against the former deputy minister of justice, PiS MP Marcin Romanowski. However, it is not known when the court's decision will be made. TVN24 reporter Marta Abramczyk said what steps would be taken after Romanowski was detained in the European Union.
The National Prosecutor's Office has information proving that PiS MP Marcin Romanowski crossed the border and is staying in one of the European Union countries. Therefore, on Wednesday, she submitted to the District Court in Warsaw an application for the issuance of a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) against Romanowski, a suspect in the investigation regarding the Justice Fund.
Romanowski is a former deputy minister of justice and PiS MP. He has been wanted since last Thursday on an arrest warrant.

It is not known when the court will decide
On Thursday morning, TVN24 reporter Marta Abramczyk reported that the court had not yet made a decision on the European Arrest Warrant. – When I asked when the decision might be made, unfortunately I didn't hear any specific answer. It may fall today, it may fall tomorrow, or it may fall only in a few days or even later – said the reporter.
Abramczyk also talked to the spokesman of the National Prosecutor's Office, prosecutor Przemysław Nowak, who said that there was no new official information about the PiS MP.
Due to the fact that the prosecutor's office assumes “with probability, but not certainty” that Romanowski is outside Poland, it submitted an application to the court for a European Arrest Warrant and to the police for the issuance of the so-called Interpol red notice. – All these tools are intended to allow investigators to detain Marcin Romanowski faster if he is actually outside the country – said the TVN24 reporter.

She reported that if Romanowski were detained in the European Union, but not in Poland, “then the courts must cooperate with each other.” – If such cooperation proceeds as the Polish side expects, then a decision on extradition should be made quickly and Marcin Romanowski should be brought to Poland – explained Abramczyk.
Where is Romanowski?
The reporter also pointed out that there was unconfirmed information in the media about Romanowski's fate. On Thursday, “Gazeta Wyborcza” reported that “the services already know where exactly the PiS MP is abroad.”
The daily writes, citing one of the informants, that the place where Romanowski is “is constantly monitored.”
Marta Abramczyk reported that investigators point out that “Marcin Romanowski certainly follows the Polish media closely and unless investigators take specific steps to arrest him, they will not even anonymously report anything to the media.”
