Embargo on LPG from Russia. The Ministry comments

As stated in the announcement of the Ministry of Industry, preparations for the introduction of an embargo on LPG as part of the 12th sanctions package have been ongoing for 12 months.

The ministry indicated that during meetings with the LPG industry and stakeholder organizations, they assessed that the situation on the LPG market was stable.

As reported, the share of sanctioned Russian fuel in the Polish market is systematically decreasing and, what is very important, with a slight increase in prices at gas stations. It was emphasized that preparations for the introduction of sanctions in all sectors of the LPG market had gone well and there was currently no risk of shortages of this fuel on the market.

Fuel prices

“Referring to fuel prices, it should be emphasized that the liquid fuel market is an unregulated market, which means that liquid fuel prices fall into the category of contractual prices, i.e. set by producers based on market mechanisms – depending on the situation on global markets for petroleum products , the state of the national economy and the state's fiscal policy,” it was written.

It was added that in the conditions of functioning of the free fuel market, public administration has only an indirect influence on shaping fuel prices by setting tax rates and fees.
