Stare Białe. Fight and death at a construction site run by Orlen. Three people in custody

In the Stara Biała commune near Płock, in the container town of an investment run by the Orlen company, a group of Filipinos attacked their two compatriots. One died as a result of his injuries, the other is in hospital. Three people were detained. They were charged with participating in a beating with a dangerous weapon, which resulted in the death of a person, and were temporarily arrested.

Portalplock.pl was the first to report the tragic events at the construction site of the Olefiny III complex. This information was confirmed by the spokesman of the District Prosecutor's Office in Płock, prosecutor Bartosz Maliszewski, in an interview with tvnwarszawa.pl.

– On the night from Saturday to Sunday, a criminal incident took place at the Olefin III construction site of Orlen. In a container town, a group of citizens of the Republic of the Philippines broke into a container inhabited by others, including Filipinos. Then, two people were found in this container with stab and cut wounds. They were taken to hospital. Unfortunately, on the way, one of these people died in the ambulance. The second person underwent surgery. Her life is not in danger, said prosecutor Maliszewski.

Three people detained

He said that an inspection was carried out at the scene and monitoring was secured. The recording shows people running in and out of the container. The murder weapon was also found at the scene. – Three people, citizens of the Republic of the Philippines, were detained in the case – explained the spokesman of the Płock prosecutor's office.

The detained are three men, aged 37, 39 and 44.

– Based on the evidence collected so far in the case, the men were charged with participating in a beating with a dangerous weapon, which resulted in the death of a person. These allegations, however, may be subject to a more severe modification – said the subcommand. Monika Jakubowska from the police in Płock. – The court, at the request of the prosecutor, imposed a three-month temporary arrest on the men.

Art. 158 § 1. Whoever takes part in a fight or beating in which a person is exposed to direct danger of loss of life or the occurrence of the effect specified in Art. 156 § 1 or in Art. 157 § 1, § 3. If a fight or beating results in the death of a person, the perpetrator shall be subject to the penalty of imprisonment from 2 to 15 years.

Orlen also commented on the matter in a short statement.

“We confirm that we have been informed about a night-time incident (fight) in the Workers' Town, where foreign subcontractors of one of our investments live. As a result of the event, which took place on the premises managed by the contractor of this investment, three people were injured, including one fatally ( there are no Polish citizens among them). situation and, if necessary, we will provide all necessary support,” the company said in a statement quoted by portalplock.pl.

Last week, Orlen announced that the company's supervisory board had agreed to stop the construction project of the Olefins III complex in its current scope.
