A technical fault paralyzed the railway in Norway on Wednesday. From 8:00 a.m., communication systems between trains and traffic control centers are not working. Due to the immediate threat to passengers, trains have been stopped at stations until further notice.
The manager of the Norwegian railway network, Bane Nor, does not know the source of the problems. Anne Sofie Kirkhusmo, the company's spokeswoman, said it was difficult to say how long it would take to restore normal traffic on Norwegian tracks.
– I don't know what caused the problem. We are working to resume normal train traffic as soon as possible, Kirkhusmo said.
The national railway carrier informs that travelers whose journey was canceled on Wednesday due to the failure can use taxis and the costs incurred will be refunded.
