We wholeheartedly support the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, but we will say it once again – everyone can help however they want. For millions of us, this day, when the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity plays, is one of the most joyful and unifying days of the year. Children saved by WOŚP now help save other children. This is a beautiful Polish story. On Thursday, the police detained a man who threatened to kill Jurek Owsiak.
The man who threatened Jerzy Owsiak confessed and expressed regret.
– This was motivated by reading one of the reports on Telewizja Republika, in which Jerzy Owsiak was shown in a bad light – says Piotr Skiba from the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw. The person who spoke on the phone about the shooting of Jerzy Owsiak testified freely about what he saw there and what motivated him.
Telewizja Republika even featured someone as an expert on Owsiak and an authority in the field of charity. – The sanctity of Jurek Owsiak is beginning to be questioned – said Robert Bąkiewicz, former chairman of the Independence March association, on Telewizja Republika.
– We will talk later about what role Owsiak played as a manipulator for the post-communist system – said the host of a current affairs program on Telewizja Republika.
“We need to resist tearful stories and support Telewizja Republika”
– Jurek and the Orchestra save so many lives, children. They help people live. So how can you speak out against something like that? – asks Anna Dymna, actress and president of the “Despite Everything” Foundation.
“Fakty” TVN calls for support for Anna Dymna's endeavors and wholeheartedly supports the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. TV Republika calls for people not to support it and to give money to its journalists.
– We need to resist tearful stories and support Telewizja Republika – said the presenter of TV Republika.
Someone like that really calls saving the sickest – the youngest and the oldest – sob stories. “Fakty” TVN, wholeheartedly supporting WOŚP, also appeals to support Małgorzata Chmielewska's foundation.
– This will cause an immediate reverse reaction, i.e. Jurek will, I hope, collect more – comments Sister Małgorzata Chmielewska, president of the “Houses of the Bread of Life Community Houses” Foundation.
On TV Republika, in discouraging the Orchestra, they even go as far as recalling Paweł Adamowicz – a victim of a murder out of political hatred during the finale of the Orchestra, which was supported by the mayor of Gdańsk.
– It was at the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, which was very poorly organized, that Paweł Adamowicz was murdered – commented the presenter on TV Republika.
The widow of the murdered president of Gdańsk, Magdalena Adamowicz, wrote that, in her opinion, there is nothing sacred in the political hatred of Kaczyński and the media executioners he uses. She wrote it in response to hatred and threats against Jerzy Owsiak.
– There is no consent and there will never be consent to hate and threats directed against those who contribute to making our lives better – said Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, mayor of Gdańsk.
– I appeal: do not donate a single zloty to Jerzy Owsiak's Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity – said Janusz Kowalski, an MP from Law and Justice, on Telewizja Republika.
– Of course, we all express solidarity with the Great Orchestra, hence the heart on my jacket today – said Rafał Trzaskowski, mayor of Warsaw and candidate for president of Poland, talking about the heart sticker.
“We had a time when, well, we could choose after all”
On Telewizja Republika, the hosts discourage the orchestra and convince them to give them money. – No to sob stories. I support freedom of speech, I support brave journalists, said one of them.
The former head of the political cabinet of Michał Wójcik from PiS, who slipped such words during a discussion about Jerzy Owsiak, is presented as a journalist on TV Republika.
– We had time when, well, we could choose. In a moment I will be accused of hatred and hate speech. It was possible to check and take a closer look at this activity, said Monika Rutke.
The words “to get along” were actually used there – in the discussion about Jerzy Owsiak. And when it comes to checking and controlling his activities, all services of all governments in Poland could do it. They did this and found no irregularities.
