A few days after the driving ban ended, a resident of Żory got behind the wheel again. He was driving a car without one tire, which attracted the attention of witnesses. They stopped him and called the police. The man was drunk.
The 38-year-old arrived near the gas station at Wodzisławska Street on Sunday morning. His strange behavior and the damaged car prompted the station's customers to take action.
“When they ran up to the vehicle, they found that the man's reaction and communication with him were very difficult, so they took his keys and then called a police patrol,” we read in the police statement.
He was previously banned
The officers tested the 38-year-old with a breathalyzer and confirmed that the Volkswagen driver had almost 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his body.
“After checking the police systems, it also turned out that this was not the first time he had been driving on 'double gas'. Just a few days earlier, his driving ban issued by the Żory court had expired,” the police say. The officers praise the attitude of the witnesses who prevented the drunk driver from driving further.
