Silesian Police Headquarters reported that last week there were a series of arrests among hooligans of one of the Silesian football clubs. As determined TVP Katowicethese are members of the Torcida group associated with Górnik Zabrze.

The action was carried out by officers from Silesia, as well as from Poznań and Jarocin. It occurred in the Silesian and Greater Poland voivodeships. The detainees included four women aged 35 to 42 and six men aged 31 to 57. By court decision, one of the men was temporarily arrested for three months. The rest were subject to police supervision, property bail and bans on leaving the country. The police do not rule out further arrests.
Torcida operated from 2015 to 2019 in various cities in Poland, the Netherlands and Great Britain. Members of the group introduced several tons of various types of drugs into circulation – marijuana, amphetamine, cocaine and mephedrone, with a total value exceeding PLN 100 million. They are also responsible for brutal beatings.
In the case, which has been going on for several years, 70 people were arrested, and a total of 260 members of the group were charged. This includes: participation in an organized criminal group, as well as committing crimes against life and health and drug crimes. The hooligans also allegedly used firearms and dangerous tools, such as axes, machetes, baseball bats and brass knuckles.
