A broken tree fell on the roof of kindergarten No. 7 on Moniuszki Street. The incident occurred before 10 a.m. – The tree fell on the kindergarten building, causing a defect in the roof surface – roof tiles. The tree was quite large and caused a crack in the wall. Therefore, the supervision inspector decided to exclude this part of the building from use for the duration of the expert opinion. Firefighters also removed other trees in the kindergarten that were at risk of collapse, said senior captain in the afternoon. Piotr Kowalski, press officer of the Municipal Commander of the State Fire Service in Zielona Góra. – Nothing happened to anyone – said Marek Kamiński, vice-president of Zielona Góra. One of the kindergarten groups will have classes on Monday in a different place. – We are in contact with parents to organize activities and care for all children – said the vice president.
The weather calmed down in the afternoon. In Zielona Góra, firefighters carried out about 20 interventions related to removing the effects of strong wind.
