Serious accident, the driver does not react – such a report put all services in Staszów (Świętokrzyskie) on their feet. However, when the police arrived, they found the road empty. It turned out that the report was sent automatically by a phone falling on the road.
Report of an accident that occurred in Staszów at ul. Cmentarna was received by the Provincial Emergency Notification Center on Monday afternoon. WCPR forwarded the information to the police dispatcher.
“The situation was unusual in that the report came from a telephone. The device automatically notified the owner about a serious car accident, providing the coordinates. Since no one answered the call, police officers rushed to the scene,” we read in the statement from the Świętokrzyskie police.
The phone fell off the roof of the car
However, the patrol that arrived at the scene did not find any injuries or a damaged car. However, a man approached the police and gave them a phone he found on the sidewalk.
Two hours later, the owner of the device reported to the District Police Headquarters in Staszów.
“The woman told the police that she had left her phone on the roof of the car. Forgetting about it, she set off on the road. It fell on the street and the system probably identified the shocks resulting from hitting the asphalt as a serious car accident and notified the services about the danger,” the police said.
Officers appeal for careful use of electronic devices. “Each action involves the involvement of many people, and this help may be needed elsewhere,” they remind.
