IMGW has issued first and second degree warnings for high temperatures. The forecasts indicate that the temperature in the shade may reach 32 degrees, in full sun it will be much higher.

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first and second degree warnings on a three-point, ascending scale.

IMWM warnings of the second degree – heat

Second-degree warnings against scorching heat are in force in the following provinces:

  • Pomeranianexcept the north-western counties;
  • Warmia-Masuria;
  • Kuyavian-Pomeranian;
  • Greater Poland;
  • lubuskie;
  • Lower Silesianoutside the southern counties;
  • Lodzwith the exception of the Radomsko district;
  • Masovian;
  • Podlasie;
  • Lublinexcept the southern counties.

The maximum temperature during the day will be from 28 to 32 degrees Celsius, and thermometers at night will show from 16 to 20 degrees C. In places where the minimum temperature does not drop below 20 degrees, it will be the so-called tropical night.

Warnings in the following provinces: Pomerania, Lubuskie, Wielkopolskie, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Lower Silesia, Warmian-Masurian and Podlaskie will be valid until 6 p.m. on Friday, and in the remaining regions they will remain in force until 6 p.m. on Saturday.

First degree IMWM warnings – heat

Lower-level heat warnings have been issued for the following provinces:

  • Lower Silesiafor the southern counties;
  • Lodzfor the Radomsko district;
  • Lublinfor the southern counties;
  • Opole;
  • Silesian;
  • Lesser Poland, with the exception of the Tatra district;
  • ÅšwiÄ™tokrzyskie;
  • Subcarpathian.

In these places the maximum temperature during the day can range from 29 to 32 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature at night will reach from 15 to 18 degrees Celsius.

Warnings in the Lubuskie, Lower Silesian and Podkarpackie provinces will be valid until 6 p.m. on Friday, and in the remaining regions they will expire at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
