Nicola Zalewski had an exceptionally turbulent period. The Pole was forced out of the club to Galatasaray at the end of the transfer window, and when he refused to join the Turks, he was suspended and removed from the first team. He has not appeared on the pitch since September 1 and the match against Juventus (0-0). Recently, however, his situation has improved somewhat.
Zalewski returns to training and the squad for the match. What about the game?
Zalewski returned to training with the first team, and the new Roman coach, Ivan Jurić, prefers to play with three central defenders and swing players, which is just like for the Pole. More good news arrived on Saturday, October 5. Our representative was included in the match squad for Roma for the first time since the aforementioned clash with Juventus, which will play away to Monza today at 6:00 p.m. Of course, just appearing in the squad does not mean that Zalewski will play. His affairs with the Roman club are still not fully resolved.
The Italian journalist talks about the condition that Roma imposes on Zalewski
Italian journalist Gabriele Spaletta from the website siamolaroma.it spoke more on this subject. In an interview with WP SportoweFakty explained the current situation of the Pole. It turns out that coach Ivan Jurić really wants Zalewski to return, but first our representative must extend his contract with Roma. – After extending his contract, I don't think there will be any problems with his return to the squad. Jurić is waiting for it. Roma needs reinforcements on the left wing, and Zalewski can provide it. If he returns to the squad, he will have to take advantage of the opportunity, rebuild quickly and thus regain the trust of the fans, Spaletta said.
So it seems that despite Zalewski being in the squad for the match against Monza, the future is still “under contract”. An extension means a game, its failure may return the Pole to the starting point and problems. The Italian journalist also assured that talks were still ongoing. It is therefore possible that the fate of our representative will be clarified in the near future.
