Apache helicopters will soon go to Poland. We know the date of delivery

The eight AH-64D Apache assault helicopters will go to Poland on June 16-TVN, Marcin National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, said in an interview with the correspondent of “Facts” by TVN. The deputy prime minister emphasized that the machines would allow Polish pilots to train until the delivery of 96 American helicopters in a more modern version.

Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz met on Tuesday in Washington with the boss Pentagon Pet Heghethem. The subject of the conversation were security issues and the Polish alliance with the USA.

Training before “target” delivery

After talking to the American Secretary of Defense, the Deputy Prime Minister answered the questions of the “Facts” correspondent of Marcin Wrona's TVN. The politician announced that the first eight AH-64D Apache assault helicopters would go to Poland on June 16.

The package of contracts starting the leasing procedure of these helicopters was signed on February 27 this year. At that time, it was reported that their delivery would take place at the earliest in June, and at the latest in September. These helicopters will reach Poland before the 96 machines of this type ordered last year in the most modern version of the AH-64E version and allow, among others for the first start of crew training and technical service.

– This contract is very quickly implemented, because signed before 15 last August and this year we already have this part of leased (helicopters) Apache, which will allow us to train pilots and will serve the safety of the Polish state – explained Kosiniak -Kamysz on Tuesday.

Leasing helicopters is to be the so -called The bridge solution – i.e. preventing the situation in which old equipment will be withdrawn from use, and the ordered new one will not yet be implemented. Deliveries ordered for Polish army “target” 96 APCHE machines are to start in 2028.

Will replace the outdated Mi-24

AH-64D APACHE helicopters will go to the subfields of the 1st Land Forces Aviation Brigade, stationed, among others in Inowrocław, where the training of flying, technical and security staff will be conducted.

As part of the agreement concluded on August 13, 2024, Poland is to receive 96 modern AH-64E APACHE helicopters with a logistics package (including helicopter equipment, airport and Hangar equipment and technical support) and training (specialist training and training equipment for pilots and technicians). The order also includes a comprehensive supply of combat means and spare parts. The delivery was provided in 2028-2032.

Apache will replace, among others outdated Mi-24 helicopters.
