New recipes for resistant: The Ministry of Climate and Environment plans to change the provisions regarding waste management fees. Municipalities versus residents: Undertaking the number of inhabitants in junk declarations This is one of the most popular ways to pay less or not at all. Persons living in the property are not included in these declarations. Sometimes the reason is that municipalities increase the fees almost to the maximum allowed amount (PLN 53.56 per person). Although municipalities may apply for a registration data, but this is burdensome, and there are too many irregularities in declarations. How does this work now? Current regulations are based on Act of September 13, 1996 on maintaining cleanliness and order in municipalities. It gives municipalities several ways of control such as calls for explanations or the requirement of additional documents when submitting declarations. As a last resort, officials may be tempted by starting administrative proceedingsif there is a suspicion of irregularities.
Will the new regulations be better? The ministry takes into account the possibility of using various types of databases and registers to make enforcement of fees more effective. The changes will also most likely cover the act itself.
