Investigation into the “two towers”
At the beginning of February, the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw initiated an investigation into the bringing of Austrian businessman Gerald Birgfelller to an adverse disposal of property in the amount of not less than EUR 1.3 million by misleading it. It is about the construction of two skyscrapers on the Srebrna plot in Warsaw. The case is being carried out by Ewa Wrzosek.
Patron Roman Giertych, one of the proxies of Birgfelller, also informed about the initiated investigation into Srebrna. Giertych said that on February 7 the Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation regarding the granting of “financial benefits in the form of money in the amount of PLN 50,000, a member of the Supervisory Board of the Lech Kaczyński Institute Foundation in exchange for the abuse of his rights.” This is the re -taking of a case from 2019, in which the investigation from the notification of Birgfellnyr was refused, who claimed that Kaczyński was to get him to the bribe.
In mid -January, the National Prosecutor's Office – after an audit concerning 200 investigations from the time of PiS's rule – reported that in the matter of building two skyscrapers on a silver plot belonging to the company in Warsaw, it is necessary to issue a decision to initiate an investigation.
