Beko Europe announced on Friday the finalization of the sales contract for the Łódź Verpol factory, which produces plastic components. In May, the plant will go to the Turkish group MEFA. Thanks to the transaction, 250 employees of the factory will retain their work on unchanged conditions.
The manufacturer of household appliances Beko Europe reported in a message sent to PAP that he finalized the agreement concluded last year with the MEFA group – one of the Turkish producers of wire products – regarding the sale of the Verpol factory in Łódź.
As a result of this transaction 250 employees of the Łódź plant is to maintain employment Under previous conditions, with guarantees regarding seniority, salary level and all employee benefits.
Beko sells the Verpol factory
According to the director of the Beko Europe MICHELE FABBROILA production plant, MiFA is a long and experienced partner of Beko, a manufacturer of components for the entire household appliances. “Mieta will continue to provide key parts to the Beko Europe plant in Radomsko, which will ensure operational continuity” – added Fabbrocile.
The sale of the Verpol factory in Łódź, scheduled for the beginning of May this year, is part of the wider process of optimizing production carried out by Beko Europe. In September last year, the company announced a decision to terminate operations in its plants in Łódź, which produced stoves, dryers and plastic components as well as at the fridge factory in Wrocław.
Currently, the company focuses on further development of operations in Radomsko, a plant producing cooking devices in Wrocław, the Shared Services Center (SSC) in Łódź and to strengthen commercial activities and customer service in Warsaw.
Beko Europe is a company that produces household appliances. The newly created Beko Europe is in 75 percent. owned by Beko BV and 25 percent owned by Whirlpool Corporation.
