IMWM issued meteorological warnings. In parts of the country, strong wind alerts will be in force at night. Gusts can reach speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour.
Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.
IMWM warnings – strong wind
Yellow alerts IMWM apply to voivodeships:
- Lesser Polandpoviats: Nowy SÄ…cz, Nowy SÄ…czGorlice;
- Podkarpackiecounties: Jasło, Krosno, KrosnoSanok, Lesko, Bieszczady;
- West Pomeranian Voivodeshipcounties: ŚwinoujścieKamieński, Gryfice, Kołobrzeg, Koszalin, Sławno;
- Pomeraniancounties: Słupsk, SłupskLębork, Wejherowo, Puck.
Strong winds are forecast there with an average speed of 40-45 to 50 kilometers per hour, with gusts up to 80 km/h, in the south of the country from the south-west and south, and in the north from the west and north-west.
Warnings in the province Lesser Poland and Podkarpackie will expire at 23 on Thursday, while in the province West Pomeranian and Pomeranian Voivodeships will be valid until 10 on Friday.
What are IMWM first degree warnings?
Conditions are expected to favor the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by road traffic, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
