Białystok. False rail alarms. There is an indictment against two people. Including a former policeman

On the morning of August 27, 2023, after the unauthorized broadcasting of the Radio -Stop signal, trains stood near the Łapa Station, and around noon – twice – the railway traffic on the Sokółka -Szepietowo route was suspended.

A few hours later, at home in one of the housing estates in Białystok, she stopped two men aged 24 and 29.

According to the National Prosecutor's Office, an indictment in this case has just been sent to court. Two men had – at different intervals – to give a signal to launch a safety brake on trains. They face up to 12 years in prison.

Eighteen trains, both freight and passenger trains equipped with a radio-stop system devices, were detained or threatened with detention.

The accused will be responsible for bringing danger to large size property. The prosecutor's office estimated at least PLN 149 million.

Men will respond to court for creating a situation that “was to cause a belief in the existence of a threat to the life or health of many people or property in significant sizes” by the fact that they had a radio-stop signal many times in an unauthorized way. This caused the trains automatically stop, various public institutions and services responsible for the railway reacted to this to reveal this threat.

The prosecutor's office assessed that the action of the accused “significantly” disrupted the work of the railway line system in the region – according to information provided by prosecutor Katarzyna Calaów -Jaszewska from the press team of the National Prosecutor's Office.

At the time of arrest, short -scale equipment was also found with men. One of them was an officer of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Bialystok employed in the Faculty of Operational Technology. When the prosecutor's office charged him, disciplinary proceedings were initiated in the police, he was suspended and then released from service.

A former policeman will also be responsible for the illegal processing of personal data. There is a fine, limitation of freedom or to two years in prison.
