Blaszczak revealed the army's plans. “He will have to explain to it”

Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar He submitted to the Sejm a request to repeal the immunity of PiS MP and the former defense minister Mariusz Błaszczak regarding the disclosure of military plans. Blaszczak said that he did not intend to waive immunity and believes that as a defense minister he declared “historical documents”, not secret.

The document described the defense plan in detail against a possible attack Russia. In the autumn of 2023, during the Parliament's election campaign, part of the plan was declassified and used to formulate charges against the then opposition that she wanted to give the aggressor part of Poland east of the Vistula line.

Andrzej Zybertowicz (advisor at the Chancellery of the President Andrzej Duda), Michał Wójcik (Law and Justice) and Zbigniew Konwiński (Civic Coalition).

– Every patriot would do that. I would do it too, what Mariusz Błaszczak did. If I only found out that someone just wants to give half Poland, then every patriot would do so – said Michał Wójcik, referring to the declassification of military plans by Błaszczak.

MP KO reacted to this statement. – No patriot, not for electoral purposes, we make such information publicly manipulated in fragments. No patriot. You know, this is a different word for it. Certainly not related to patriotism. On “Z” – said Konwiński.

– You did it in a cynical way, a fragment, in fact, analyzes, documents. (You showed – ed.) Just before the parliamentary elections, with a proper narrative, this is nothing but betrayal, Blaszczak will have to absolutely explain it – said Konwiński, turning to Wójcik.

– He did not have (Blaszczak -Red.) Specific consents from the General Staff to declassify such documents. You did it for one specific purpose to improve your electoral quotes, you played the security of the state. And so you have to speak and call things by name – noted MP KO.

According to MP Leo Błaszczak, he was to remove the secrecy clause from documents for political purposes. – There was a political campaign then. Mr. Błaszczak could not remove this secret and top secret clause. He had to turn to the chief of the General Staff, i.e. to the person who imposed it. Regardless of where these materials were, these documents were, they were covered by secret and top secret clause. He also broke the rules here, he must answer for it – she said.

– He left the army in chaos, used a uniform, used Polish soldiers, to run his own campaign, and used his PR agency. We all remember military picnics, where electoral agitation was conducted. Now he has done something even worse. And it's not even stupid, it's worse. This is a violation, it is playing our safety – this is the betrayal of the state – she added.

Prof. Zybertowicz pointed out that the matter of declassifying documents by the former head of the Ministry of Defense has two dimensions: substantive and procedural. The first of them is to concern whether “public opinion in Poland should find out these things”. According to Zybertowicz, the then team of Donald Tusk conducted the irresponsible defense policy. ”

The procedural dimension, according to the adviser at the President's Office, would concern the formal issue of declassifying the document. – When I was a member of the State Commission for the Research of Russian influence, for example, in the secret of the Military Counterintelligence Service, fragments of documents were declassified for us – said Zybertowicz.

He added that the document declassified by Błaszczak was disclosed in fragments, “to protect this information” that could be sensitive. – It would happen, as far as I know, in consultation with representatives of the General Staff, which is a subordinate body of the minister. So as for the procedure. But let the court act in an objective manner, independently state – he assessed.

The MEP of the Confederation pointed out that the declassification of military documents should not appear as the topic of the election campaign. Fragments of the Plan to use the Polish Armed Forces under the code name “Warta” were used in the PiS election spot in 2023, in which Błaszczak said that the previous government of the Prime Minister Donald Tusk“in the event of the war he was ready to give half Poland.”

– Issues such as defense, as special services should not be the subject of election campaigns. And such information should not be disclosed. However, whether there was a violation of procedures here, the court should assess – he said.

When asked whether he thinks that the Sejm should repeal Blaszczak immunity said that “he would have to read the conclusion.” – Sometimes the devil is in the details – I would have to read the behavior, because that's how we talk only about the media fact, and you have to look at the legal status – he replied.

Left MP Dorota Olko argued that someone who imposed it could remove the clause. – I don't understand this one thing. Since you maintain that Minister Blaszczak did nothing wrong, he acted in accordance with the law, why is he afraid to stand before the justice dimension and just explain it? You know that this was not the case – she emphasized.

– The conclusion is also one to draw that this policy of building on fear, at threatening people by pulling fragments from documents – did not bring you the effect – she added.

Wójcik in response to the words of the left of the left said that “Mariusz Błaszczak is not afraid to appear in court.” – It does not cover with immunity, because we know what arithmetic is and we know that you will vote everything, what Donald Tusk tells you – he commented.
