A senior citizen from the Siedlce district walked about 20 kilometers along the national road at night. When traffic police noticed her, she was confused and hypothermic. No one had paid attention to her before and helped her. The woman told officers that she had gone to the gas station to drink hot tea.

A woman walking alone on the side of the national road number 92 in Bojmie was noticed by traffic officers from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Siedlce. The incident happened a few days ago. At that time, midshipman Mariusz Wróblewski and sergeant Magdalena Urban were on duty.

– It was 7:45 a.m. when they stopped the police car to check if the woman needed help. She was a 78-year-old resident of Gręzów. The woman seemed confused. In a conversation with the officers, she said that she went to the gas station to drink hot tea and was returning home. As it turned out, she had already passed her house a long time ago and was walking in the opposite direction – reports Commissioner Ewelina Radomyska, spokeswoman for the Siedlce police.

The hypothermic 78-year-old woman was taken to hospital

As he emphasizes, the woman was in a condition that threatened her health and life. Everything indicated that she was hypothermic, so the officers called an ambulance, which took the 78-year-old to the hospital in Siedlce.

– We appeal! Don't be indifferent to people who may need help. Especially in winter, when low temperatures pose a great threat to health and life. Every reaction matters, emphasizes Commissioner Radomyska.

If we notice a person who is disoriented or at risk of hypothermia, we should react and notify the appropriate services. The police suggest that all you need to do is call the emergency number 112 to call for help.
