During Easter, banks, like most institutions, work at non -standard hours. On public holidays, the way the Elixir and Euro Elixir settlement systems operate on public holidays. “Therefore, it is worth thinking about timely payments in advance,” warns the National Calculating Chamber.
As Kir reminds, settlements in the Elixir system are implemented as standard during one of three sessions taking place on business days, at 9:30, 13:30 and 16:00. Departure from this standard are public holidays.
“Such a day off is Easter Monday, April 21” – explains the Chamber.
As added, on Friday, April 18, the Elixir system will function as on any other business day. “However, it should be remembered that the transfers that we will order after 16.00 that day will be settled during the morning session of the next business day, i.e. on Tuesday, April 22” – informs Kir.
On Christmas, the Elixir system works differently. An important transfer should be made earlier.Shutterstock
Transfer in currency and express mode
In the case of Euro Elixir – a system of settlement transfers in the EU currency (national and cross -border) – the break in operation will cover Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21, because in many European countries Good Friday is the so -called Bank Holiday, i.e. a day off from work.
“Regardless of the day of the week, banks clients can use the immediate Express Elixir payment system, which operates in continuous mode – 24/7/365, i.e. also on weekends and holidays. Transfer of funds between accounts operated in various banks takes place in real time” – reminds the National Calculating Chamber.
