An Opel passenger car was stolen in Bulków near Płock. Less than two hours later, the car overturned. The police arrested the theft suspects. According to her, the driver had nearly three per mille of alcohol in his body.
According to the spokeswoman of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Płock, Assistant Commissioner Monika Jakubowska, the theft of an Opel took place last Saturday in Bulków. Less than two hours later, the car rolled over. Then the police arrested two men, aged 38 and 40, suspected of theft.
Alcohol and court ban
The police determined that the driver of the Opel lost control of the vehicle and drove into a ditch, which led to the car rolling over. The driver's sobriety test showed that he had nearly three per mille of alcohol in his body. It also came to light that the court had previously banned him from driving.
The 38-year-old and the 40-year-old did not suffer serious injuries during the rollover.
They face imprisonment
Both men were charged with vehicle theft. The younger one will also be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol despite a court ban, as well as causing a road accident. He and his companion face up to five years in prison.
