Two companies want to buy butter: Spółdzielnia Mleczarska Mlekovita and Milkpol Polska Sp. z o. o met the conditions in the proceedings and submitted the most advantageous purchase offers – the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves (RARS) announced on Friday, December 20. It's about selling frozen butter.
RARS intervention: Due to the significant increase in butter prices, the agency announced a tender on Tuesday, December 17 sales approx. 1,000 tons of this product in blocks of 25 kg. The minimum selling price for butter was set at PLN 28.38 per kg (without VAT).
Why is butter expensive? “Recently, the price of butter has increased significantly on world markets, which is primarily the result milk shortage. This situation also affected Poland. In order to stabilize the market situation, the Government Agency of Strategic Reserves announced a tender for the sale of large quantities of butter,” the agency explained in a statement.
