The cause of the fire in a warehouse in Bydgoszcz was most likely damage to one of the heating elements. The operation to extinguish the fire is still ongoing. The management of MMP Neupack Polska assured that no one from the crew would lose their job due to the production downtime.
The possible cause of the fire that broke out on Sunday (January 5) was announced on Tuesday (January 7) by the vice-president and executive director of MMP Neupack Polska, Michał Thomas.
“Currently, the extinguishing of raw materials and preliminary demolition works are underway at the company's premises. Once completed, fire experts will begin to determine the cause of the fire. The preliminary findings so far show that the probable cause of the fire was damage to one of the warehouse heating elements,” Thomas wrote in the release.

The vice-president and managing director of the company emphasized that the scale of the fire was significantly influenced by the fact that paper and cardboard intended for the production of printed packaging was stored in the warehouse. He noted that thanks to efficient security systems, the fire was limited only to the raw material storage hall with an area of approximately 6,000 square meters and did not spread to the production halls and the finished products storage area with a total area of 38,000 square meters.

Thomas said that the fire brigade continues to extinguish the fire and secures the destroyed raw materials so that they can be safely disposed of. The company is already cooperating with specialist companies in this matter.

The company has developed a plan to restore the plant to normal operation, and inspections of all power installations in the plant are carried out. In order to ensure continuity of customer service, the company's management decided to transfer part of the production to the company's second plant in Bydgoszcz. The company remains in constant contact with business partners to minimize the negative impact of the event on their operations.
