The Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation in connection with a notification from the Central Bureau of Investigation about a possible crime committed by the former head of the office, Andrzej Stróżny. The proceedings concern, among other things, abuse of power. It concerns the purchase of an apartment for over PLN 1.2 million.
The spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, Prosecutor Piotr Antoni Skiba, announced that the proceedings are being conducted under Article 231 (abuse of power) and 232 (exerting influence on court actions) of the Penal Code.
– The notification in the case in question was filed by the head of the CBA. It concerns the use of premises purchased by the CBA for operational purposes that is not in accordance with their intended purpose and the obtaining of personal benefits from this – explained prosecutor Skiba.
He said that the proceedings in this case are based on secret documents. – The district prosecutor's office has filed a motion with the CBA to declassify these documents – he added.
At the beginning of May, the spokesman for the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services, Jacek Dobrzyński, announced that in April The CBA submitted a motion to the prosecutor's office in this case. – For the needs of Andrzej Stróżny, a residential premises in Warsaw was purchased from CBA funds for the amount of PLN 1.255 million – he said.
