– If the National Electoral Commission had two or three more months to make a decision, in my opinion PiS would not have received even a penny – said Cezary Tomczyk, deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense, in “Fakty po Faktach”, referring to the rejection of the PiS committee's election financial report. – For 48 hours we have been analyzing two more cases, including the subsidy that was given to the already famous Red is Bad company by the Ministry of National Defense – he said.
National Electoral Commission rejected the PiS election campaign financial report on Thursday. The committee accused the party Jaroslaw Kaczynski irregularities in spending 3.6 million zlotys. The head of the National Electoral Commission, Sylwester Marciniak, explained that the subsidy for the PiS Electoral Committee “would amount to over 38 million zlotys”, but “will be reduced by 10 million zlotys”. Krzysztof Lorentz, director of one of the teams in the National Electoral Office, said that the annual subsidy for PiS will also be reduced by “three times the amount that was accepted in breach of the provisions of the Electoral Code, i.e. the amount of over ten million zlotys”.
The decision of the National Electoral Commission may be appealed to the Supreme Court.
Tomczyk: we are analyzing the subsidy given to Red is Bad
Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk assessed on Friday in “Fakty po Faktach” that if the National Electoral Commission “had two or three more months to make a decision,” PiS “would not have received even a penny.” In his opinion, “PiS should be really happy” that this decision was made now.
– For the past 48 hours, we have been analyzing two more cases, including a subsidy that was transferred to the already famous Red is Bad company from the Ministry of National Defense. We are analyzing this case. We are also dealing with a case of probably multi-million abuse, namely organizing a special press conference for the (then – ed.) Minister (of Defense) Mariusz) BÅ‚aszczak – Tomczyk informed.
– Please imagine that one of Minister BÅ‚aszczak's events, in order to announce some more things, also during the election campaign, cost several million zlotys of public money, but we will talk about it – he added.
When asked about the amounts, the deputy minister replied that “as far as Red is Bad is concerned, it is probably around one million, two million zlotys, but we are checking it very carefully.”
– This is an exceptional case, especially in the Ministry of Defence. Each of these wasted zÅ‚otys could have gone towards missiles, missile parts, rockets, tanks, but they preferred to spend it on this type of investment, investment in their political party – said Tomczyk.
– Maybe they shouldn't be surprised by the decision of the National Electoral Commission – he added.
“The CBA will have a lot of work, as will the prosecutor's office”
The deputy head of the Ministry of National Education also commented on the information about finding in the Ministry of National Education applications for subsidies submitted in 2022 under the “Investments in Education” program, which were not dealt with during the time of PrzemysÅ‚aw Czarnek. There were over 2.2 thousand such offers in total. There is also a list of foundations and associations that received millions, although they had a negative opinion from the ministerial commission.
– Somehow it doesn't surprise me, because it seems that Minister Czarnek didn't really deviate from the standard that was the PiS standard. That means either theft, embezzlement, or fraud – said Tomczyk.
He noted that “in this case we are talking about another gigantic scandal”. – We are talking about 100 million zlotys, which should go to appropriate organizations that deal with education – he added.
– It seems so. CBA will have a lot of work, as will the prosecutor's office – he assessed.
Tomczyk: F-35s will appear in Poland at the beginning of 2026
Tomczyk also commented on presentation and symbolic handover of the first F-35A multi-role fighter to the Polish Air ForceThe contract signed in 2020 provides for the delivery of 32 fighters with a training package and weapons for a total cost of $4.6 billion.
When asked what other elements are needed to be able to use these planes in Poland, the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense replied that “first of all, the pilots must undergo appropriate training, we also need instructors.”
– Our first pilots stayed in the United States, where they have already started training on simulators and later on these first four planes – he added.
He said that the fighters “will appear in Poland at the beginning of 2026, but they are already in Poland's possession and Polish pilots will fly them, only in the United States.”
“In three years we will be in a good position”
Tomczyk was also asked about the words of Deputy Minister of National Defense PaweÅ‚ Bejda, who said during the ceremony in Texas that Poland “is considering the purchase of additional combat aircraft” and intends to significantly enlarge and modernize its air fleet.
– We are thinking about more squadrons of aircraft. This will require analysis after the F-35 is implemented in our armed forces – said Cezary Tomczyk. – But what I can say is that we want to modernize our F-16s. Then they will be able to “communicate” with the F-35 on a completely different level, they will be compatible. This is already a really powerful force, I am talking about the combination of F-35, F-16, FA-50. Today we will have about a hundred fighter aircraft – he added.
Asked when this system would achieve operational capability, he replied that “when we talk about adapting it together with the anti-missile system, that is about five years”. – But in about three years we will be in a really good position – he assured.
– We also decided to purchase, by the way, a very nice name, Barbara aerostats. These are such large airships that will hang over our territory in order to see more. The Minister of National Defense also decided to purchase such flying radars, i.e. early warning planes from the Swedish company Saab. One of these planes is already in the air, flying over Poland. It helps us a lot, because we simply need to see more, hear more – said Tomczyk.
– This is a matter of our security, especially since we see from the Ukrainian experience that air safety is three-quarters of success – he noted.
