The climate ministry is working on a new pattern of electricity bills for households. They are to be more transparent. The draft changes in this matter was published in the list of legislative and program works of the Council of Ministers. It also includes support for the development of renewable energy sources (renewable energy).
It is a draft act amending certain acts to deregulation in the field of energy.
The authority responsible for developing changes is the Ministry of the Climate and the Environment, and the date of adoption of the project by the government was set at the second quarter of 2025.
Energy bills more transparent
As indicated in the description posted on the KPRM website, the planned change assumes that electricity bills for households will be more transparent. The first page of the bill is to include a summary of the most important information, including the total amount to be paid in a visible place. The goal is to make it easier for recipients to understand the structure of energy fees.
As part of the project, it is also planned to change the basic form of correspondence between energy enterprises and recipients – for electronic form.
At the same time, recipients will have the opportunity to continue correspondence in paper form on request, which is to secure the interests of digitally excluded people.
Support for the development of renewable energy sources
There are also changes to support development renewable energy sources. One of the key assumptions is the extension of the formula of the so -called Cable pooling (sharing energy connection – ed.) For the possibility of using energy storage. Thanks to this, it will be possible to use the existing power infrastructure more effectively and better management of energy surplus.
In addition, it is planned to increase the electrical installed power threshold, from which it is required to obtain a license for electricity production, from 1 MW to 5 MW. These installations will be covered by the entry in the register, as is the case with small installations.
It is also assumed to increase the installed power threshold, which allows the construction of a photovoltaic installation without the requirement to obtain a building permit, from 150 kW to 500 kW, provided that this installation is built to meet only its own needs for electricity.
