On the night from Wednesday to Thursday, 19 fire brigades extinguished a fire in the attic of the Trade School building in Český Těšín. No one was hurt in the fire, and the cause is being investigated.
The flames appeared in the attic of the Trade School, where the computer labs were located. Later, the fire spread to the neighboring elementary school. The firefighting operation was hampered by the structure of the burning building.
Thanks to the firefighters, the fire did not spread to nearby residential buildings. There was no need to evacuate their residents.
The spokeswoman for the Moravian-Silesian Region (Region) Fire Department, Kamila Langerova, reported that the roof of the Trade School building was damaged as a result of the fire and the extinguishing operation. A construction expert is to check the structure. The damage is also being estimated.
