– We are dealing with something that definitely requires an exclamation mark, not a question mark – said General Bogusław Pacek on “on TVN24, referring to Donald Trump's conversations with Vladimir Putin on Ukraine. Jerzy Marek Nowakowski, a former Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Latvia and Armenia, said that the American president “invites Russia” back to the table of conversations.
US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that He talked by phone with Putin, among others, about the war in Ukraine. According to his account, both leaders agreed that they wanted to stop the death of Russian and Ukrainian soldiers. They also agreed to start peace negotiations immediately.
President Wołodymyr Zelanski announced on Thursday that Ukraine would not accept any bilateral agreements about his fate concluded by Moscow and Washington without Kiev's participation. On the other hand, US Secretary of Defense Pete HegeSth said during a meeting in Brussels that Ukraine's membership in NATO is “unrealistic”, as well as its return to the borders before 2014.

Nowakowski: Trump's play is a bit naive
Jerzy Marek Nowakowski discussed the situation around Ukraine in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24, Former Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Latvia and Armenia, lecturer at the Academy of Martial Arts, and Bogusław Pacek, retired division general, employee of the Middle and Far East Institute of the Jagiellonian University and director of the Polish Army Museum.
Nowakowski estimated that such an invitation to Russia to conversations “is a very bad news” for Poland. – Mainly because the greatest Polish geopolitical success was that Russia was a pariah of the world. And suddenly Donald Trump invites her back to the table – he said.
– The fact that this conversation will take place has been announced for a long time, so it's not a surprise. However, this is already a bad signal, because this tone (in which Trump was about Putin – ed.) Was too warm – he added.
According to the former ambassador in Latvia and Armenia, “Trump's play is a bit naive”. – And I have the impression that Trump is looking for dramatically what he promised in the election campaign (i.e. – ed.) That there will be peace in 24 hours. So I want a room. Let's add that the Ukrainian side of this room needs like a rain kite – he pointed out.
General Pacek: This situation requires an exclamation mark, not a question mark
According to General Pack, “we are dealing with something that definitely requires an exclamation mark, not a question mark.” – Because we are dealing with a denial of value. We have been at the forefront of the United States for years, we talked about freedom, the principles, and independence. And suddenly in front of our eyes, the president of the superpower, in fact the leader of the Western world, with whom we identify very much, bypasses all these rules, agrees to conversations, and we said that there will certainly not be such conversations – he explained.
– Trump skips Ukraine, because if he talks to Zelanski, then after Putin, not before Putin. Omits the European Union and Europe. This is something that should not happen. I am afraid that this is the beginning of a large change, a again concert of powers – said the director of the Polish Army Museum.
“Negotiations of a businessman with a trained muzzle are not good for this businessman”
Nowakowski, referring to Trump's conversations with Putin, stated that “these negotiations of a businessman with a trained muzzle badly bode this businessman.” – And to the Americans we should tell one thing: gentlemen, you are in Warsaw (he referred to the visit of the Secretary of Defense in Poland – ed.) – here the word “Solidarity” still plays a very important role. Well, the Solidarity of the West is the only guarantee that the authoritarian world will not break our order in which we have been successful for several decades – he emphasized.
The former ambassador in Latvia and Armenia also said that “Ukraine militarily at the moment barely nozzles” and Ukrainians “need peace like oxygen.” – So it's good that it moves in this direction. However, the style of all this is simply disturbing – he assessed.
The diplomat agreed to General Pack that this is “an attempt to build a concert of powers.” He referred here to reports that the most likely place of the planned Trump meeting with Putin is Saudi Arabia. – Saudi Arabia appeared (in these conversations – ed.). Putin's Russian advisors say: “Saudi Arabia is not, because it is an ally of America, maybe India, maybe China.” In short, they are trying to play this concert of powers – pointed out the guest “dots over and”.
General Pacek: Putin has already received a gift
General Pacek also said that Putin – pointing to a possible suspension of weapons in Ukraine – “wanted three things”. – He wanted earth in the east and before prognosis began, the American side says: “Yes, you will take the earth in the east of Ukraine.” Secondly, Putin wanted Ukraine not to enter NATO and Ukraine would not enter NATO. And Putin still wanted to eliminate sanctions. There will be no sanctions in a moment, because if there is a suspension or freezing (war – ed.), There will be no sanctions in a moment – he calculated.
– The prognosis has not yet begun, and Putin has already received a gift in the form of assurance or American offer, that in principle these three main demands will be met – said the guest of TVN24.
