As the TVN24.pl portal found out, a doctor from the University Hospital in Krakow, who was killed by the patient, previously reported to the police that the man demanded 20,000 from him. PLN due to the alleged error in the treatment. The doctor, however, did not want the law enforcement authorities to initiate any proceedings. Our findings are confirmed by the prosecutor's office.
The murder of a 47-year-old doctor at the University Clinical Hospital in Krakow by a 35-year-old patient took place on Tuesday at 10:30. The man invaded the office in which the orthopedist examined – as it turned out later – a prison service officer – and attacked a medic with a knife. The attacker was protected, the man is in the hands of the police. The doctor's wounds were so severe that despite the immediate help of medical staff, he could not be saved.
– The likely motive of the suspect was his dissatisfaction with the quality of treatment, which the doctor carried out some time earlier. At the same time, this issue was examined by the Medical Chamber in Krakow. There was no irregularities on the doctor's side – said prosecutor Oliwia Bożek -Michalec, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Krakow at a press conference.
Reported to the police that the patient demanded money from him
Prosecutor Bożek-Michalec, asked if the doctor had previously reported to the police, that the patient had harassed him, she said that the findings she made shows that there were no such reports.
– However, a report was noted in which he informed the police that the patient demanded 20,000 to him. PLN due to the alleged error in the treatment. It was in January. However, the wishes of the applicant was only to inform law enforcement agencies, but not to initiate some proceedings in this respect – the prosecutor pointed out.
What the prosecutor said also coincides with the findings of tvn24.pl. As we found out on January 17, 2025 at 16.42 doctor Tomasz Solecki applied to the Police Station in Krakow and declared to the duty officer that his former patient demands PLN 20,000 for him for surgery, as well as infection during surgery.
According to our findings, the duty officer referred a policeman on duty on that day. The doctor did not report other criminal events, but only a demand for money. The policeman conducted a conversation, providing information about the possible course of the proceedings. The doctor refused to formally submit any notification. Recordings from the monitoring camera only confirm the conversation, not accepting the notification.
As we agreed in the police, there were no other applications in Krakow for 5 years in Krakow. The analysis of conversations from the police unit recorder does not confirm the notification of any information about the crime.
