Rafał Trzaskowski, the mayor of Warsaw, who is running to be the Civic Coalition's candidate for president of the country, said at a meeting with residents of Krakow that “today there is a chance for fair elections.” He added that the fundamental issue in these elections will be security. During the meeting, an incident occurred and a banner with the inscription “CPK in Poland, not in Berlin” was unfurled. Trzaskowski reacted.

And the basic ones, when I was trying to become the president of the country, but also when I was trying to be the mayor of Warsaw, these were the tests that showed whether someone had character, whether he was tough, whether he was determined, he said.

– You were with me when we fought for the presidency in 2020. I have taken on a very important obligation. I feel that this commitment is still important today. We have scores to settle with PiS“Everyone, as we sit here,” he said to the crowd.

Trzaskowski stated that “if those elections (in 2020 – ed.) were truly fair, the result would be different.” – Today will be completely different, today there is a chance for fair elections. And I know that if we give ourselves this positive energy, just like in 2020, we will win these elections, he added.

He also said that “the issue of security is absolutely fundamental in these elections.” – Because today we live in uncertain times – he added. He said that the future president “will have to, first of all, prevent a crisis situation by acting sensibly and by building alliances.”

Banner incident regarding CPK. “They came in, screamed and ran away”

At one point, a banner with the inscription “CPK in Poland, not in Berlin” was spread in the audience. It's about Central Communication Porta planned infrastructure investment that includes, among other things, the construction of an airport in Baranów. In addition, there were shouts in the hall.

– We will also talk about CPK. That's what it's all about, we are a democratic party, we hold open meetings. If there are any demands, we will of course address them – Trzaskowski responded and asked to ask a specific question on this matter when there will be time for questions from the floor.

However, the people who brought the banner left the room immediately afterwards. – Let me ask you a question, calmly, calmly, no nerves, are you running away already? – the politician asked them.

– Wait, you wanted to ask a question. You see, some people are not mature enough for democracy, unfortunately. The worst thing is that I don't know exactly what they meant. They entered, screamed and ran away – Trzaskowski commented on the whole situation.
