A fire is raging in the vicinity of the Croatian city of Trogir. On Thursday, the flames threatened one of the hotel complexes. We received the materials on Kontakt 24.
According to local media, the fire broke out on Wednesday between the towns of Seget Vranjica and Medena near Trogir. The flames began to devour the pine forest, spreading very quickly towards the sea.

On Thursday, the fire came dangerously close to the hotel buildings in the town of Medena. Firefighters reported in the evening that after hours of fighting, they managed to prevent them from catching fire, and currently no infrastructure is at risk. The operation involved 70 firefighters supported by 3 firefighting aircraft and 20 ground units. The fire has been partially contained.

– Today is the second fire in the vicinity of Trogir. Currently, the extinguishing operation is underway, firefighting planes and fire brigade units are flying. There is no announcement regarding safety, a huge cloud of smoke is visible from every place in the city and the surrounding area. The fire does not seem to be spreading. People seem to live normally and the fire is unfortunately treated rather as an additional attraction – wrote Mr. Kornel, the author of the photos.
Croatia is facing an intense heatwave, with temperatures in some areas reaching over 40 degrees Celsius this week, while sea temperatures around Dubrovnik reached an all-time high of 29.7 degrees Celsius on Monday.
