Magdalena Fręch said goodbye to the Olympic Games in Paris very quickly. She lost 4:6, 6:7 to Wiktoria Tomowa in the first round. Magda Linette performed slightly better, eliminating Mirra Andreeva in the first round, but then lost to Jasmine Paolini.

– I have the impression that Linette is in a good period and in good shape. The draw could have been a bit more advantageous. I think that with the tennis that Magda is showing, she could have won more, but more luck was needed in the draw. It was obvious that she was starting to lack energy, that fatigue was showing somewhere. There were several arguments saying that it could be a good match for Magda. She only had enough strength for one set. Later, fatigue, difficult days, a lot of tension, a lot of stress and emotions came out. All of this accumulated – he said in the program “Misja Paris” in “Przegląd Sportowy”.
This leaves only Iga Świątek left in the fight for a medal in tennis competitions at the Olympic Games. The Pole is the main favorite to reach for gold. So far, she has defeated Irina-Camelia Begu and Diane Parry without any major problems. In the fight for the quarterfinals, she will face Xiyu Wang. The match will take place on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
