Question about the restoration of basic military service

The debate is divided into three thematic blocks: security, foreign policy and economy. In each part, each of the three leaders ask the candidates of two questions of identical content. Time to answer – 1 minute.

In the thematic block, security the first question concerned whether, in the face of the growing threat, the candidate/candidate would support the restoration of basic military service.

Magdalena Biejat said she was against it, and Polish army “It must be strong with good weapons and good cooperation with partners.”

Szymon Hołownia said that there is no need to introduce universal consumption. – Not the number (army) is the key, but the equipment and tasks to be fulfilled – he added.

Marek Jakubiak said that there should be mandatory military service for three to six months.

Karol Nawrocki noted that there are fewer and fewer recruits in the Polish army. He also attacked Rafał Trzaskowski, saying that “the greatest threat” for the Polish army would be if “Coward” stood at its head, because he described the president of Warsaw.

– Service should not be compulsory, but it should be desirable by young people, there should be a benefit system – said Krzysztof Stanowski.

– I do not want to support any form of militarization – Maciej Maciak answered this question.

Rafał Trzaskowski said that he was an opponent of consumption to the army, but he added that the Polish army must be the most numerous and best equipped in Europe.

Question about migration policy

The next question concerned whether the candidates, according to the candidates, should be closed the border in front of the migrants and whether they have any plan to accept at least some migrants.

Trzaskowski said that “today we have a hybrid war on our eastern border, which is why we must have the safest border in Europe and this is happening.” He alleged that the previous government “was unable to control the border.” “We repair it all today,” he added. The candidate KO also said that “big money from the European Union must be taken and strengthened our border.”

Stanowski ironized that “today this version of Rafał Trzaskowski, who is just against the recessing of migrants, drew.” “I am happy because we agree at the moment,” he said.

Senyszyn indicated that the Polish border partly coincides with the EU border. – Therefore, we should primarily act together within the European Union. We should not get ahead especially with some ideas, just communicate, because the problem of migration will get worse because of drought and hunger – she said. In her opinion, “we must be prepared to assimilate migrants.”

Nawrocki said that “Poland has been a fortress for years.” – Today we know that what is happening in Western Europe is a problem for women, for children. We see these acts of vandalism allowed illegal migrants. Eurostat statistics also talk about it in such countries as Belgium or Germany The level of security has fallen definitely under the influence of illegal migration – he continued.

According to him, “today we are in a situation where the Polish western border is under the pressure of illegal migrants”, and “the Polish government abdicated to take care of the western border.” – As the president of the Polish state, I will strive for unilateral termination of the migration pact. The safety of Polish women and Poles is the most important for me – he said.

Maciak replied: – I am struck by the hypocrisy of these main parties in Poland. Once they say that you must not let in, then they let in.

– Until we change the president, the phenomenon of migration will be the subject of political disputes and also a source of problems of Polish families, which in this respect do not have a fair work – he added.

Jakubiak estimated that “this is a very dangerous phenomenon.” He added that the western border is “very pressed” today. – We obviously have to act symmetrically. The symmetry is that we must close, seal the border both western and eastern – he added.

Hołownia emphasized that “the Polish border must be tight, it cannot be exceeded illegally.” “Then most of the problems will solve,” he added.

Biejat said “Poland must be safe”. – Poland must control who comes to us and let those who have the right to stay here on the basis of international agreements and our constitution – she said.

How to ensure energy stability

Another question concerned energy security. The question was: What action should the president take to ensure energy stability?

– The basis of our energy security must be an investment in renewable energy sources – said Magdalena Biejat. – The model of Polish energy must be based on the Polish sun, Polish wind, Polish atom, Polish biogas plants – emphasized Szymon Hołownia. He added that the energy transformation must be “fair”.

– Coal is Polish gold, it can give us cheap energy that does not pollute the environment and is a cheap source of energy, contrary to what the left says – argued Marek Jakubiak.

– Promoting atomic energy, new transmission networks is a promotion of the stock market system. I am a fan of renewable energy sources, but fairy tales about the fact that great investments in renewable energy are waiting for us for years – said Maciej Maciak.

Karol Nawrocki said that he would “defend Polish coal”, but he added that it “does not slow down our path, our vision to atomic energy.”

Joanna Senyszyn said that “we need an energy mix.” – We cannot now give up either coal, nor atom or any other forms of energy. ”

Rafał Trzaskowski said that “it was the PiS government that led to the highest energy prices in Europe.” – We introduced the Energy Union project, (…) Today we have billions of KPO to create energy magazines to invest in renewable energy sources – he said.

International competences of candidates

Foreign policy was another thematic block. The question was asked about what candidates have experience, competences and acquaintances on the international arena. – I used these one and a half years as the Marshal of the Sejm to raise parliamentary diplomacy to the level of the unknown – argued Szymon Hołownia. – President of the Republic of Poland He should conduct his own proponent policy, he should only have Polish interests – said Marek Jakubiak.

– I will get along with everyone – argued Maciej Maciak. – for seven years I pursued the state of memory of the state as a boss IPN – said Karol Nawrocki.

– I am probably one of the most experienced in both life and politically candidates – said Joanna Senyszyn.

– I have dealt with European policy all my life, I was a minister of European affairs, I worked in the European Parliament, as a young boy I worked for a while on the Capitol, I had great relations with both republicans and democrats. I have been scientifically dealt with this all my life – said Rafał Trzaskowski.

Where the first visit

In the block of foreign policy, the question was also asked: what capital should the new president visit the first and what leader should the first leader be to Poland as the first?

Trzaskowski said that “the Polish president should get on a plane (…) and fly on one journey, in which the route should definitely be found (city – ed.) Mons, i.e. NATO's quarters, there should be Paris, because we currently will sign a very important agreement with Paris and our relationship with the EU are probably the most important with Paris, and of course Washington.”

Stanowski declared that “the first capital, which will of course be visited by Male, the capital of the Melediws.” – This country (…) goes under water, you have to hurry to visit those countries that may disappear from the world map – he explained.

– The first capital I will visit, of course, will be Brussels, because European Union This is the best thing that happened to Poles in history, 'said Senyszyn. She also noted that “Washington must be visited”.

– When I become the president of the Polish state, I will first visit Washington, of course, to organize our international relations – said Nawrocki. “It will be a visit to Washington with a stopping in the Vatican,” he clarified.

Maciak said: – As for my first visit, it's probably nowhere. We'll see who cares about. Let him come to Poland.

– Out of respect for 10 million Poles I would go to the United States, this is our largest Polonia – said Jakubiak.

Hołownia estimated that “first neighbors (…) – Lithuania, Latvia Estonia, Finland, Sweden and the Czech Republic.” – This is today the ecosystem closest to us and the world closest to us. Later Brussels and Washington – he said.

As Biejat announced, “Vilnius would be the first capital she would visit.” – As a symbol of strengthening our cooperation with our neighbors from the region – she added.

Confusion around participation in elections

Even before the debate, emotions associated with the uncertainty of who would finally appear in it.

Rafał Trzaskowski offered Karol Nawrocki a debate on Friday at 20 in Końskie. TVN24, TVP and Polsat News expressed their readiness to organize a debate. It was not known until the last moment whether the PiS candidate would appear. His staff set a condition that he wants other television to be involved in the debate – TV Republika and WPOLSKA24, which are financially related to PiS.

After several applicants declared their arrival, Trzaskowski published an entry with a recording. “I think that because of respect for them and, above all, due to respect for voters, you need to expand this debate. I will be waiting at 20 o'clock in Końskie,” he said.
