Among those awarded during Sunday's ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills was one of the most recognizable stars of American cinema, 62-year-old Demi Moore. She was awarded the award for best actress in a comedy-musical for her role in the film “Substance”. This is the first Golden Globe in Moore's extensive career.
– I really didn't expect it. Now I'm in shock – said the actress after entering the stage at the Beverly Hilton. – I have been doing this for a long time, over 45 years, and this is the first time I have won something as an actress, and I am simply honored and grateful – said the “Substance” star.

Demi Moore on “Substance”
While receiving the statuette, Demi Moore recalled a conversation with a film producer from about 30 years ago, who called her a “popcorn actress”. – I bought it and believed in it. This (belief – ed.) over time led me to the point where a few years ago I thought maybe it was true. “Maybe I'm complete, maybe I did what I was supposed to do,” she continued. “(Then) a magical, bold, bold, unconventional, absolutely crazy script appeared on my desk called 'Substance' and the universe told me I wasn't done yet,” she added.
Directed and written by Coralie Fargeat, “Substance” is about the pitfalls of the mindless pursuit of youth. The film was nominated for the Golden Globes in several categories: best comedy or musical, best director, best screenplay, best supporting actress (Margaret Qualley). The production's only award was a nomination for Demia Moore in the category of best actress in a comedy or musical.
The biggest the winner of Sunday's gala was the film “Emilia Pérez” by Jacques Audiard, which received awards in a total of four categories, including the best comedy/musical film. The best dramatic film was “The Brutalist”. Its creator – Brady Corbet – won the best director award, and Adrien Brody received the award for the leading male role in a film drama. The star of Walter Salles' drama “I'm Still Here” – Fernanda Torres won the statuette in the category of best actress in a drama film. The award for best supporting actor went to Kieran Culkin for his role in “True Wrath”, filmed in Poland.
