– Poland is the most attacked state in the European Union – said on Wednesday in an interview with TVN24 BIS during the European Economic Congress Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitization Krzysztof Gawkowski. At the same time, he said, “Poland spends the most on cyber security in its history.”

“There are more and more attacks from year to year”
The deputy prime minister also announced that “there are more and more attacks every year.” – In 2024 there were over 111,000 attacks that were identified. 600,000 entries of attacks. These are very large numbers – he said. He noted that their number increased by several dozen percent year on year.
– And 2025 does not promise to be better at all. Because after the first quarter we can see that there are more attacks than in 2024. We are in a permanent war, a digital war. WITH RussiaWith Belarus. These countries attack us. They want to destabilize the situation – said Krzysztof Gawkowski. As he explained, on the one hand it is disinformation, and and on the other, attempts to hit critical infrastructure, i.e., for example, in the supply of water or electricity.
Asked if the number of attacks intensifies with the upcoming presidential elections, he replied that “you can see that there is more.” – This does not mean that it will be easier after the election. Today, disinformation is intensifying, and the beliefs are also intensified that you can buy people here who will be recruited to write posts, enter false content (on the Internet – ed.) – he noted.

According to the deputy prime minister, the activity of Russian military intelligence in Poland increased.
– but “election umbrella” (program Protection of elections against cyber threads and disinformation – ed.) Works. We respond to (various) situations in a very short time – he assured, adding that even in the case of attacks on election committees, they receive information “in a de facto real time”.
