The Russian suspected of coordinating the acts of subversions directed against Poland, the United States and other allies was deported to Poland and arrested – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The suspect was hiding in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The National Prosecutor's Office informed that his activity consisted in setting fire to objects and sending courier parcels with incendiary materials. The court agreed to a three -month arrest.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Friday evening that the Russian suspected of “to coordinate diversion acts directed against Poland, the United States and other allies” was deported from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Poland.

Arson and parcels with incendiary materials

The National Prosecutor's Office also issued a message in this case.

“Mazowiecki Division PZ PK is investigating participation in Poland and other countries in the activities of foreign intelligence by performing sabotage acts consisting in damaging industrial facilities and critical infrastructure in the form of airports, aircraft and vehicles and initiating fires with courier packages with self -ignition (deeds from art.

It was added that “in the course of the proceedings, allegations of Article 130 § 7 and 8 of the Penal Code were announced, and then 4 persons were arrested temporarily, who were involved in the activity of the disclosed sabotage and international sabotage group.”

“Subsequent people were sought after. International search led to detention at the end of 2024 in Bosnia and Herzegovina of another suspect, a Russian citizen. In connection with the submitted application for extradition, the suspect was deported to Poland yesterday” – we read further in the prosecutor's announcement.

It was announced that on Friday the prosecutor charged him with coordinating sabotage acts in Poland and other countries, consisting in setting fire to objects and sending courier parcels with incendiary materials.

“Also today, the prosecutor submitted a request to the court for maintaining detention on remand. The court accepted the application by applying the arrest for a period of 3 months,” the investigators informed.
