“If you don't know what's going on, it's usually about money,” saying doctors say why the program for Parkinson's patients does not work as it should. Without financing with the National Health Fund they are helpless, and many patients could help immediately. This help is needed in the simplest life situations.
On the face of Mrs. Agnieszka Soldenhoff-Pawłowska, the effects of the last fall on the face of Parkinson's disease. Because it does not use a modern drug program, it is weak. A few days ago, despite using the walker, she fell over. – Suddenly I felt that I was flying and fell on my face, and I have this bruise. This happens quite often, because we lose balance suddenly – says the woman.
In a similarly dramatic situation, Mr. Kazimierz Dębowski, also patient with Parkinson, is. He just returned from the hospital, where he had a spine surgery – he broke him because he fell over.
– I was in the bathroom, I bathed and slipped. I stuck my heels on the threshold and chopped like a stone to the ground – says Mr. Kazimierz.
The man with the help of his wife since last year has been desperately fighting for him as part of a special pump program that would subcutaneously dispense him with medicines instead of tablets. Doctors from the hospital of St. Wojciech in Gdańsk would gladly admit it to him, but they have no money for it.
– They are unable to determine when you can use this pump because they do not have financing with the National Health Fund. And without a pump, my husband is absolutely not suitable for functioning – says Mrs. Czesława Dębowska, wife of Mr. Kazimierz.

The government claims that the program works without problems
Hospital of St. Wojciech is the only center in northeastern Poland that treats patients with Parkinson's disease in this way. – We did not turn on any new patient, although we have several dozen waiting for qualifications, and 12 already qualified patients. For half a year, some of them are waiting for a call from us to the hospital so that we include them in this modern treatment – says prof. Jarosław Sławek, head of the neurological and impact department of the Hospital of St. Wojciech Copernicus in Gdańsk.
The worst is in Gdańsk, but the problem is nationwide. Despite this, the Ministry of Health believes that everything is fine. According to the letter we received, the so -called B.90 program is implemented without a problem throughout the country, which is not true. This is confirmed by prof. Andrzej Friedman, a neurologist from the Medical University of Warsaw.
– We enter a deep policy, and it's mainly about money. As I said today and many times: if you do not know what's going on, it is known that it is about money – comments prof. Friedman.
The NFZ simply pays less for running a program for people with Parkinson's disease. Not only in Gdańsk. – We stayed on ice and now what should we do? We are waiting and there is no positive information from the Ministry of Health – says Andrzej Kropidłowski.
