This means that half of the employees were paid remuneration no higher than this amount, and the other half received remuneration no lower. Previously, the office reported that median wages in the national economy in June amounted to PLN 6,507.39.
Gender differentiation: For men value of the median salary amounted to PLN 6,899.50 in July and was PLN 485.54 higher than for women. “Taking into account the age of the employees, it can be noticed that highest median value occurred in the age group 35-44 and amounted to PLN 6,940.00,” reports the Central Statistical Office.
Lowest and highest earnings: The Central Statistical Office also reports that in July 2024, 10 percent the lowest-earning people received a salary of at most PLN 4,300.00. In turn, 10.0 percent the highest earners received a salary of at least PLN 13,000.00.
Average salary: In turn, the average salary in the national economy in July 2024 was PLN 8,195.07. Among men, it amounted to PLN 8,604.70 and accounted for 105%. average total salary. Whereas average salary of women was lower and amounted to PLN 7,769.06. It was equal to 94.8 percent. average total salary.
“Information and communication”: In July 2024, the highest median value occurred in the “Information and communication” sectionwhere it amounted to PLN 10,725.00. The highest average salary was also recorded in the “Information and communication” section, where it amounted to PLN 13,536.63. Whereas the smallest in accommodation and catering – 5 thousand PLN 562.14.
Central Statistical Office and median: The Central Statistical Office has only recently announced the median salary. The office only started publishing last year data on the earnings of Polish women and men every month, not every two years as before. It was with this change that the median began to be reported, not just the average.
